I’ve always loved Cinnamon French Toast. I recently tried a sticky bun at a local restaurant. It was more like a dessert, very sweet but would make a good Cinnamon French Toast, as it’s served with a breakfast meal.
It’s a meal in itself. The sticky bun had a nice vanilla favor and gave me an idea for a Cinnamon French Toast recipe. I enjoy French vanilla creamer in my coffee so why not try it in my recipe instead?
Ingredients for 2 to 3 people:
6 thick slices of bread (Texas toast or sour dough)
1 cup French vanilla creamer
1 tbls cinnamon (more or less), diluted in a little water
A dash of Café Patron or Baileys (more or less).
2 tbls butter
This would work well with other flavored coffee creamers; Hazel nut, Amaretto or any other of your favorites. And if you want to really kick it up a notch, add a little Café Patron or Bailey’s.
Beat eggs and creamer along with cinnamon mixture and booze if you want to kick it up a notch. Soak bread in mixture while melting butter in skillet. Grill on medium till golden brown. I can see it stuffed with a flavored cream cheese.
I hope anyone that enjoys a good cinnamon French toast recipe tries this. I think it will make a good Christmas morning breakfast. Exclude the booze for the kids, or not?
Food is like sex, you need to change it up every now and then.
Another good recipe for a Christmas breakfast is Biscuits and Sausage Gravy. One of my other favorites.
