Meatball Pizza Pie

After watching Pizza Paradise the other night. I knew what I was making for dinner. A Meatball Pizza Pie. It’s not very difficult to make. I figure others might enjoy it, or take the idea and use their own favorite ingrediants.

I came across some bakeware at a local Anique show. A nice baking dish. I wanted to use it when I got home. A pizza pie came to mind. After a quick run to the grocery store, and pressed for time, this is what I came up with. I hope you try it.

INGREDIANTS

Favorite Italian Meatballs

Parmesan Cheese

1 Container Pillsbury pizza dough

1 jar favorite tomato/pizza sauce

1 pkg Mozzarella Cheese

1 jar Caramelized Onions and roasted Red Peppers, drained.

1 pkg sliced Mushrooms

Strech out pizza dough and cut in 1/2. Coat bakeware with a little Pan. Place 1/2 the pizza dough in the bottom. Poke it with a fork a few times and pre-bake for about 10 minutes at pkg recommended temperature.

Saute mushrooms in a little butter and garlic powder if you have it. Add the jar of onions and peppers to heat up.

After pre-baking, spinkle mozzarella cheese on bottom. Spoon tomato sauce over cheese.  Cut meatballs in 1/2, or not. and place in pie. Spoon mushroom, onion and peppers over and between meatballs. Top with a little more sauce and some Parmesan cheese.20130905_18204720130905_184452

Place other 1/2 of pizza dough on top, sealing the edges.

Top with more sauce and cheese. Back in the oven for about 15 minutes or so.
